  • Aims and scopes

    The purpose of the journal is to improve postgraduate medical education of neonatologists and quality of medical care provided to the population of the Russian Federation.

    The journal is intended to become a methodological guide for practitioners, being part of the program for continuing medical education in Russia.

    When forming each issue, the selection of most popular and trustworthy modern materials is carried out, the authors of which are leading domestic and foreign authors.

    The most important tasks of the journal are summarizing scientific and practical achievements in the field of neonatology, improving scientific and practical qualifications of neonatologists.

    Scientific concept of the journal includes publication of modern advances in prevention, diagnosis and treatment of neonatal pathologies, as well as publication of scientific research results and results of national and international clinical studies.

    The journal covers various issues in neonatology and related specialties. The journal publishes scientific and practical materials on prevention, diagnosis and treatment of necrotizing enterocolitis, chronic cardiac insufficiency in premature infants, retinopathy of prematurity, congenital tuberculosis, COVID-19 during pregnancy, intestinal microbiota disorders in children born by caesarean section, haemodynamic compromise and not only. Issues of therapeutic hypothermia, enteral feeding strategies, vaccinology, etc. are also covered.

  • Editorial policy

    The main focus of the journal: scientific articles devoted to original researches, issues of pharmacotherapy and new diagnostic methods.

    During journal preparation for publication the selection of the most demanded and credible contemporary materials written by the leading Russian and foreign authors is carried out.

    The editorial board of the journal considers the following publication types: original articles (clinical study results), analytical reviews, clinical cases.

    All members of the author group must meet all four authorship criteria set out in the ICMJE recommendations:

    • developing the concept and design or analyzing and interpreting data,
      and
    • justifying the manuscript or verifying critical intellectual content,
      and
    • final approval for publication of the manuscript,
      and
    • agreeing to be responsible for all aspects of the work, and assuming that questions have been properly investigated and resolved regarding the thoroughness and integrity of any part of the submitted research.

    The editors of the journal attach great importance to the quality of the preparation of the scientific paper, maintaining a high level of requirements for the published material, which helps to increase the literacy of the authors on the issues of the scientific publication culture.

    The journal publishes texts of national and clinical guidelines for the «Neonatology» medical specialty area.

All articles are made freely available to readers immediately upon publication, since free access to research results contributes to enhanced level of postgraduate medical education. Any reprint of publications with the consent of the editorial office is allowed provided the work is properly cited.
